This helps those patients that have a tendency to develop a film on their contacts thus allowing the lens to stay cleaner longer without forming any protein deposits on the lens. This technology also allows the lens to maintain moisture within the lens preventing dryness.
Additionally, the lens has a uniform thickness across the lens which improves the lens stability so that it does not shift or rotate easily with blinking, ensuring clear, comfortable vision. This may benefit that patient in the past that have had trouble with lenses that corrected astigmatism.
Due to its highly breathable lens material, Comfilicon A, the Biofinity Toric lens is approved for monthly replacement and for continuous wear for up to 6 nights/7 days without removal. However, we find there is a reduced risk of complications for patients that remove lenses than those that sleep in their contact lenses.
