How does this lens work?

   There are many different designs of multifocals.   The early designs had a concentric ring design where there would be alternating  concentric rings of distance and near vision.

   Other lens designs had spherical zones,  slowly transitioning from near to distance from the middle of the lens with junctions in the lens allowing a gradual transition.

The Acuvue Oasys for Presbyopia has Stero Precision Select ^TM , which allows a smoother transition between distance, intermediate and near without being affected by varying lighting conditions and change in pupil sizes with lighting.

This technology may allow less haloes in the vision,  which some patients experience with the older lens designs.

About this lens

   This lens  is recommended as a two week lens replacement with daily wear.  This lens has also been approved for overnight or extended wear for  6 days.  

   The quality of vision does diminish when someone does sleep in multifocal lenses , so our recommendation is to minimize it.
