As a Doctor of Optometry, part of my commitment to my patients is ongoing professional education. As technology and the world around us changes, I have to keep up-to-date, because I have to provide the best care possible for your eyes. My educational background consists of an undergraduate Honors specialist degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Chemistry and Economics from the University of Toronto in 1995 My post graduate training is a Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University, class of 2000. My externship sites have included the Vision Institute of Canada, an institution that is focused on primary care and pediatrics, and the John Kenyon eye center in Louisville Kentucky, a premier ophthalmology practice that was one of the first to do refractive eye surgery in the United States. During my academic career, I was involved with VOSH, Volunteer Optometric Service for Humanity, where we provided vision care to indigent people in Mexico and as an officer in the American Optometric Students Association at the local level. In 2001, I became certified as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist, which allows me to diagnose and treat glaucoma. I have also been a practice owner for the past 8 years in the Dallas Metroplex area prior to becoming owner of Optical Zone. During this time I was also an active participant with Lions Club, providing voluntary examinations for children in need and Project Insight, an organization providing vision care for individuals having great financial difficulty. When I am not seeing patients, I like to spend time with my family, travel and read. I am also an active member of the Plano Chamber of Commerce and the Dallas County Optometric Society. I am looking forward to providing care for our patients in the Frisco and Colling County areas.
